Excellent Heat Lamp for Feeder Insects!!!

I have an area in my basement where I store my feeder insects for my reptiles & dart frogs: Crickets[different sizes]; Dubia Roaches; Bean Beetles; Fruit Flies, Hornworms [sometimes], etc! Basement Heated/Cooled/Humidified[during cold month] at a Constant 365/24/7, just as the above “living areas”!! I have 5 “portable clamp light fixtures” [rated for 100w] clamped to specific areas of my basement ceiling wood beams, to shine down on feeder insect terrariums! Also use a digital thermometer to measure temps on individual insect plastic terrariums!! And adjust lights as needed!! These Halogen Bulbs work GREAT FOR ME IN THIS SITUATION!!

Great bulbs, any other brand blows

Idk why everyone’s burns out after a week, I’ve never not have a bulb last me at least 6 month. I’ve actually had an 80w that lasted like 2 years and was used on my snake and leopard gecko, so it was switched over a lot.

Great for its 3 week life

This bulb was great for the whole 18 days that it worked. It’s on a recommended dimmer and off at night but still already stopped working today. It was working one second and blew the next

Excellent reptile lighting

I switched to the Exo Terra halogen basking spot lamps from incandescent spot lamps about 2 years ago for my aquatic turtle. I have not bought these from Chewy yet, but these halogen spot lamps perform noticably better than the incandescents in light quality, heat intensity, energy efficiency and improved bulb life. I was able to switch to one "level" lower wattage in this line of halogen lamps (approx. heat equivalent: 75watt incandescent = 50 watt halogen) and get a slightly warmer basking spot surface temperature. I will keep buying these as long as I have reptiles and Im excited I can now get them here.
